Job description
POSITION SUMMARY
The Floater role is an essential position in processing and monitoring all aspects of inventory movement and flow as dictated by the companys current needs and structure. This position works in all operational areas to assist with any needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete inventory transactions, including transfers, cost and quantity adjustments, and assure that they are accurate and timely.
- Daily processing of all transactions that affect movement/value/flow of the AGParts warehouses.
- Perform thorough research and document inventory discrepancies using all available resources to identify root cause and supply possible solutions when completing daily audits or other research transactions.
- Provide feedback when needed to department manager so that optimal accuracy is achieved.
- Perform audits as directed by Inventory Manager.
- Ensure labeling and shelving (general warehouse organization) standards are met
- Report instances that involve the risk to inventory, to management.
- Suggest possible improvements to current procedures with management so that better ways can be discussed. Suggest modifications to current processes to eliminate error.
- Follow AGParts company policy on authorized adjustment, flow and processing of inventory.
- Distribute inventory per division guidelines, daily schedules/deadlines.
- Correctly identify part numbers and model numbers for inventory verification purposes
- Maintain inventory records
- Assist all AGParts departments in their goals as they relate to inventory.
- Physically inspect items received for accuracy (compare part number against web, internal sites, descriptions, or purchasing verification) and authenticity.
- Unload inbound delivery trucks/stack and keep items organized and safely stacked (keeping clear walk paths) on warehouse floor.
- Research items that cannot be found for orders for picking team and solve issue by either finding the item or editing system to match physical count.
- Assist in the process of picking sales orders when needed.
- Assist in the tech, receiving, inventory, RMA and shipping areas when needed.
- Assist with recycling duties (emptying gaylords of boxes and compacting them)
- Additional duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- MS Excel, MS Word, and WMS concepts
- Good communication and reporting skills
- Proven problem-solving abilities and analytical skills
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
- The ability to work independently
- Excellent mathematical skills
- Ability to learn current inventory systems, currently: Acumatica, CYMA, Partmaster and other propriety software to AGParts as needed.
- Ability to multitask
